|
Stacy Seiler is a multi-disciplinary artist, journalist and design educator that lives in New York City. Her work encompasses a wide range of diverse media, from precisionist charcoal drawings of architectural space, to sculptural forms that intertwine 19th century photos with found objects, fiber and antiquated tools. What remains consistent is her desire to reconnect the lost history of a place, person, or time past though the use of visual metaphor. Over the past 25 years, Stacy’s work has been exhibited in notable institutions worldwide, including: Sotheby's, Switzerland, Gould-Guggenheim Estate, NY, Swiss General Consulate NY, The National Arts Club and The Painting Center. Stacy has also been interviewed by Drawing Magazine and The Boston Globe.
|
In addition to her art practice, Stacy is the Art Editor of IRK Magazine and an Assistant Professor at Parsons School of Design. Her passion for teaching first began in 2005 following a career as a Web Designer/Programmer specializing in the Corporate Identity and Branding of Fortune 500 companies. In 2012 Stacy was honored as a finalist for the New School University's "Distinguished Teaching Award". As the Art Editor of IRK Magazine, Stacy produces feature interviews and articles on cutting edge artists and fashion designers worldwide. She previously worked as a Contributing Writer of arts and culture at Downtown Magazine and as a Docent of History and Preservation at Judd Foundation. Stacy earned her BFA with a minor in Art History from the Maryland Institute College of Art and her MFA from Parsons School of Design. |
